The artefact under conservation is chasuble Inv. No. KKK tk/238, assembled from two re-used velvet brocade fabrics, featuring a decorative metallic broché weft. The fabric from the sides of the chasuble dates back to the second half of the 15th century, while the columns and shoulders to the second half of the 16th century. In 2009, the conservation of Wawel Cathedral’s only chasuble made from 14th-century fabrics was completed. The aim of the conservation work was to prepare this precious liturgical vestment for display at a museum exhibition. więcej
